As you probably know, Arteza sent me a pack of 48 fineliners to review. I will post the review on Instagram and a giveaway in the near future, but here, I prefer to talk about fineliners in general, and give you alternatives to Arteza.

If you don’t know what type of tool is this, fineliners are fine ink pens which can be used for do the lineart in traditional painting, for lettering and also, to just writing.

Personally, I like to use them if I want to ink a piece and use later watercolors or markers (Copics for example).

The Pack Arteza sent to me is 48 inkonic pens Premium. 48 tones to ink in any paper, really vibrant and beautiful (too saturated in my honest opinion). In Arteza’s website the price is $25,99. The lines are fine, precise and cool, and the metallic box is so useful in addition. The width is 0.4.

Staedtler triplus fineliners are still my favorite. I just have ten colors but the design is so beautiful and ergonomic. The tones are softer and even lightest colors are visible (some colors of Arteza aren’t very visible in the paper). You can find them in Amazon, in a pack of 42 for 19.61$. The width of the line is 0.3. I have to say these are more used for lettering, but I use them for drawing too!

I just have two or three fine Stabilo point 88, width 0.4, but I like them too. Maybe you use them in School to take notes, but seriously you can use them perfectly to do lineart! I see in Amazon there is a pack of 15 for 9,42$. Maybe these are more expensive?

But more important, I tried them with alcohol markers and water, and you can see the result. All of them work perfectly with alcohol (but you have to let it dry of course!), but just Staedtler works well with water. Considering this practical view, for me the most worthy are Staedtler, but is still my opinion!

I hope you find this useful, I’m not an expert in this art supplied but I hope I helped! :D
