Multiverse Marines Project Explained (survey link at the bottom) (Patreon)

For starters, welcome to September. Spooky season is just around the corner, but we’ll get to that stuff next month. In the meantime I have a new project to start.

So I have been wanting to do some more intense animations with a lot more frames than my usual stuff. Normally the animated GIFS i make have 10-30 frames and each frame gets a set time display. This option keeps the workload down but sometimes makes the aniamtions a litle choppy. I want to do work that looks more like actual film, which means increasing the frames and the workload.

So, I want to create a headshave scene at a fairly highly framerate. Somethinf I could even make a video out of in the end. It will take a good bit of time to finish but I feel it will be worth it.

Someone already guessed what I’m doinf from the Tracer Headshave preview. I’m recreating the introductory scene from Fullmetal Jacket, where the marines are being shaved, and replacing the marines with various fictional military/police ladies. So here’s where you come in. For this one, I won’t be using any of my OCs for the shavees (maybe a barber or two).

I took all the characters I like that you guys mentioned and made a huge poll on surneymeme.com. This was because polls on patreon have a 20 options max. This one has 126 options! Now, obviously, not all of them will get used. So I need you to go and submit a survey with all the characters you would like to see get shaved. Some are very obscure. I may make a visual guide and post it here over the weekend for them if I have time.

I’ll open a poll with the top 20 options on Monday for who you want to see get shaved in part 1.

A quick note, as mentioned, these take A LOT more frames than my usual work. As such, I am going to move away from doing 1 complete gif per week for this one. Instead expect updates on the regular throughout the week and an animation in total could take a few weeks to fully finish. Rememeber how i said my normal GIFS are 10-30 frames? Well these will be 70+ so at least double the time will be needed, but that means better quality in the end.

This surbey will stay up for the entire time I am working on the project so I’ll be referring to the results regularly.
