'Suspicious.... very suspicious'

Luca insinuates as he continues to pester Mr. Jace

There were many times when Jace would just ignore Lucas messing around, but this time Jace has his reasons and is eager to get Lucas away from the door. If it was only Edwards wealth, Jace could've just clarified the misunderstanding. But it seems as though Lucas has finally hit a nerve.

Two unfamiliar voices approaching interrupt the two's dilemma

'someone's coming!' Luca locks eyes with Jace, and to his surprise, Jace didn't ask Lucas to leave and instead signaled him to hide behind the bookshelf. 

Two middle aged men discuss an event while heading towards the locked door "Man, I'm excited for tonight's auction"

"why, is that guy showing up?"

"Are you kidding? There's no way we have what he's looking for. He's only after the rare ones"

"You never know, I heard a rumor he's been desperate since his favorite slipped away"

"You talking about that half Giver half Human chick?" the man laughs "Even if we combine our entire collection, it wouldn't compare to her worth"

Luca couldn't believe what he just heard.

'human?! Giver?!' 

Jace opens the door for the two men as they continue to have their discussion "He was too reckless and word got out that he's been experimenting on a human" the other man said while shaking his head "unfortunately she managed to run away during the evacuation before he could find answers" The two men walked through the door, and as Jace attempts to lock it behind them, Lucas grips the door in place to listen in further

"I wouldn't be surprised if he already did, but is keeping it to himself"

"Hehe, that sure sounds like something he would do".

The two men climbed down into the dark and their voices slowly began to fade

"You still want to go in after hearing that? young master" Jace said while pushing the door

Lucas, struck by the information he's been exposed to, scorns at Jace and pulls the door open to follow the men. Jace sighs in angst.

'There's no way... These are that bastards's guests?! Just who have I been living with for 11 years?' As Lucas climbs down the stairs with sensory lights, he could feel his heart race while he doubts his decision to follow the two men. 'What am I expecting to find?' The words collection, Experiments, and Human/ Giver continues to poison his thoughts making his trip down the stairs feel like an eternity until finally, he reaches the last step and looks up.
