Dragonball Z Golden Age - Tournament of Power Saga [Fan Comic][Sketch] (Patreon)

This is my variation of how the Z-fighters arrive at the Tournament of Power in the Golden Age timeline. The event still takes place, but with noticeable differences in the lineup and some of the other characters featured.

For starters, the most obvious is that Goku isn't there. Gohan is the main character in the Golden Age timeline and the hero responsible for protecting Earth- and Goku wisely abstains from participating to allow the next generation of heroes to slowly take over.

Secondly, Frieza isn't there- as it makes a lot more sense to have his brother there instead of bringing back an old nemesis for the third time in a row, only to humiliate Frieza's character by killing him off in one arc... again... and then bring him back to life again.

I figured since this is a parallel timeline, it's a lot better for the story's continuation to bring in heavy hitters like Cooler and Cell. The former to fill in for his brother in his absence and the latter as a way to show Gohan growing out of fear of his old nemesis- a personal growth for Gohan and a way for Cell to participate more in the story instead of being a forgotten footnote in DBZ's history, like so many other characters Toriyama assassinated in his multiple transitions from one saga to the next over the decades.

Also, Reina is there to have some fun... and to keep Cell in check because she's terrifying as hell.
