Oda Nobunaga vs Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke and Isshiki Otsutsuki [Sketch][Concept Art] (Patreon)

Damn. I really need to get back to writing my fanfic Naruto: Maoyu. I had this entire story planned out from start to finish, with the eventual final battle being the entire Allied World fighting against Oda Nobunaga to stop this human-demon incarnate from tearing open the walls between the real world and the netherworld to wage a war against the Gods across all of creation.

Part of what got me into writing my doujinshi and comics on patreon started off on fanfiction.net, where I wrote fics that allowed me to stretch my creative wings in multiple directions. Naruto: Maoyu was one of the more interesting ideas I ever came up with, even though the many drafts of the story went through multiple re-writes publically, which kind of fudged up its success and my reputation on the site as being a guy who can't keep to a single concept (I blame myself entirely for this, since I kept trying out ideas that kind of led to nowhere).

However, I still really like the final concept I was able to form behind this particular story's current incarnation, but I let it fall into a temporary state of hiatus due to current circumstances.

The premise behind Maoyu is simple: It's basically the world of Naruto expanded to include not only the mythologies and legends of Japan spliced into the world, but myths and legends from multiple different cultures across the entire planet, in which Naruto and his friends end up encountering many of these myths on their journey, which leads them into battling monsters, demons, ghosts, and multiple legendary figures from history in many epic encounters, including figures like Guan Yu, Fuma Kotaro, Thor, Jack the Ripper, Wong Fei Hung, Tamamo no Mae, Scathach, etc.

The earlier chapters of the Naruto manga was exclusively deeply rooted in the myth of the shinobi, which not only showcased the legendary skills of these warriors in a fictional setting, but also spoon fed other fairy tale elements from Japanese history, including yokai, animals, and figures from folktales. Of course, all of this went horribly wrong when the author started adding aliens into the mix to explain where all of these "magical" ninja powers came from, which really ruined the entire story for me. In fact, the entire story went down hill the moment they tossed Madara Uchiha into the story (I know a lot of people like the guy, but to me this guy just straight up broke the story).

The latest addition with Isshiki Otsutsuki coming in to curb-stomp both Naruto and Sasuke really pissed me off (in fact the entire existence of Boruto just annoys the shit out of me). So to remedy my hatred towards the later arcs of Naruto and the entire series of Boruto, I decided to include an enemy faction into the early stages of Naruto made up of legendary figures and Gods from our world's history, who come in and crush Kishimoto's dumb aliens for a more balanced and enjoyable story.

I figured since everyone is fine with the aliens and the DBZ powers in the Naruto world, I'd go full yolo with the over the top powers too. Embrace the madness, so to speak.

That's where Naruto: Maoyu comes in. The leader of the enemy faction in the story is a figure named Oda Nobunaga. To anyone who watches anime and studies up on Japanese history as much as I do who follows me, you should know Oda Nobunaga is perhaps one of the most influential and famous figures in Japan's history- responsible for setting the country on the path to unification and its eventual place in the world as we know it in the present. There is no way any of you haven't heard his name before, especially since the guy is featured in many anime, film, and game adaptations of Japanese lore.

I figured if there's anyone out there capable of curb-stomping Otsutsuki, white-faced aliens, it's the big O of Japan himself. The guys is an absolute beast, as you can see above where he effortlessly bisects Isshiki while fighting against Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, all of whom have achieved Sage of Six Paths levels of power at this stage in the story.
