Some Important Updates to the Patreon (Patreon)
Content
Hey there, I've got some updates for the Patreon that I'd say are pretty important.
Since the beginning, the cheapest tier was $1 a month (as low as Patreon would allow). Well I did some math, and it turns out that may not have been the best idea.
See, I don't get all the money you pledge, there are fees. And apparently, for $1 a month those fees are HIGH. So high, that it's actually been taking around a third of your support away. Add on top of that the 15% discount for annual pledges, and in the end, roughly HALF of the pledge was lost to fees and discounts.
So, I made the decision to reprice the cheapest tier to $2 a month and remove the ability to do annual pledges. BUT as a thank you for your support (seriously thank you it really does make a difference), if you are currently on the $1 tier, you have the option to stay on the $1 tier indefinitely until you cancel or edit your pledge. Anyone who's currently on the annual plan will be on that until their year is finished.
For the foreseeable future, the $2 a month and $1 a month plans will remain the same, so you don't have to worry about missing any content that's posted on Patreon if you choose to stay on the $1 tier. At this point, switching to the $2 tier would honestly just be because you wanted to offer more support to offset the fees.
Now, with that all being said, expect there to be some more cool/epic content on Patreon this year. I'm planning a private live stream for all Patreons to "beta test" the game I've been working on. Plus, I'm planning to add some big perks to the "Going Gold" tier this year as well. I'll be sure to update you all on those when the time comes.
Once again, thank you. Your support is helping so much. Behind the scenes, this year has already been a massive step in the right direction for Beta64. There's a lot planned, and your support helps make it possible. Thank you.
From the Beta Boy,
Andrew
