I've been told that most of Reverie is flashbacks. Do you want me to skip those and just focus on the new content?

The flashbacks are re-animated in the crisp style but it is just back-to-back arc recap to fill out episodes in between small bits of new content

Martina

The reanimated flashbacks are a really nice watch, cause they look so good :) But if these parts are still fresh in your memory you can skip it and focus on the new content of these eps.

The reverie is it on ark in the manga, but you can just skip through the flashbacks. I would watch it and just skip through the unnecessary flashbacks

Just have your finger next to the fast forward button

https://www.animefillerguide.com/2019/06/one-piece-filler-list.html?m=1 with this Filler list if you Go to the episodes in question you'll see the timestamps where the flashbacks end so you could decide If you want to watch them based on their length or when you See them If you are interested in them

I wouldn't mind either way but I believe there's at least one flashback that was only from a cover story, which would be new content unless you've read it already so be careful not to skip it. The One Pace edit of this arc probably cuts out all of the redundant flashbacks, might be worth it instead of needing to fast forward through large chunks.

Appreciate the poll and vote skip, though I'd leave it to your preference anyway case by case. The New Stuff is some good stuff by itself, and I can easily trust you didn't forget old arcs, it's not like you were watching weekly for 20 years. I understand the flashbacks are meant for people who forget or new watchers that happen to jump into the middle of the series recently, that plus Toei letting the manga keep its lead.

I'd say check out One Pace. Overall we get about 100+ minutes of new content.

I'd say to go with how you feel at the time. Watch the episodes and if a flashback starts becoming annoying then skip forward a little bit. Some are more fun to watch than others. Some of them even are completely reanimated.

Or you can hit the fast forward button each time.

Elthalus

Flashbacks are reanimated, they are on current animated art style.

I voted skip, but you can do whatever you want. No need to be consistent either. They're nice for parts your fuzzy on or just really want to see again. Since you read a lot of the manga recently, a lot of it will probably feel redundant though

I am completely against one pace but for the reverie arc it is 100% justified. Either that or you can just skip when the flashback portions pop up. The flashbacks are usually one big segment rather than small segments within the episodes so you won't have to be skipping multiple times during the eps.

Aropheles

I say just go with the flow, you can skip or watch depending on how you like and remember the flashback events.

Although I won't be watching the Reverie reactions for a while because I'm seriously behind on your content atm (grad school's hella busy so I just watched you react to the Gear 4th reveal), I'd say to skip the flashbacks. The Reverie was one of my favorite short stretches of the manga, and part of the appeal is how dense it was. Six wham-packed chapters. I've rarely been more disappointed than when the anime considered it apt butchering ground to dilute with more screentime worth of flashbacks than actual content. Doubled the chapter to episode ratio (6 ch. -> 12 ep.).

As far as content is concerned, I’d definitely say skip the flashback parts. Though for a personal watch through it’s nice to see some of them animated in a more modern style.

You also said that you wanted more One Piece, and this is a nice way to go through key moments in an updated anime style. I think you would like watching it all :)

Kevko

You will miss Luffy stabbing himself in the face if you skip the flashbacks. It‘s also easy to miss current stuff because it is in between the flashbacks. I suggest watching it but skip forward if its to much or you just feel like you want to skip

MeriGo_round

Personally, I find this the best proposal. You (Boom) should really get a say in how you'd like to watch it. Go by mood.

MeriGo_round

Just another vote for "go as you feel". I'd totally support you watching the full episodes as long as you're excited for it and just forwarding flashbacks whenever they get tedious to you.

Just skim through flash back parts because you will 100% miss stuff
