I just assume that all of Zoro's suggestions would involve some kind of amputation; given his usual approach to any problem that doesn't involve beating an enemy.

I love this episode because Luffy gets it, like he knows, unlike Usopp, more like Robin, that Sanji didn't mean the things he said. He hears the 'hit me, please, just hit me' over and over again and refuses. Luffy doesn't want to make it easier for him. I think Zoro would be the same, A, he would stay out of it because he understands duels. And B, he also knows the difference between an Usopp level thing and a Robin level thing. People say he'd attack Sanji, and they'd probably be right in that he'd want to, he'd want to go to that carriage and drag Sanji back by the toes and make him apologise right there and then, but he respects the duel and so wouldn't. Also Zoro is a great judge of character, like he didn't trust Robin completely until they knew her secret, he refused to hear Usopp's non apologies because he wanted Usopp to mean it. Zoro, better than most of the crew understands intention. Whereas Nami doesn't (at least not to that level, yet). I think of all the actions in this episode, Luffy's understanding and Nami's lack of it probably hurt Sanji the most. Like it hurts that Luffy is refusing to believe the worst of him, but hurts equally that Nami is willing. Even if that's what he wanted. Sanji truly is trapped, if it was any of the crew that was threatened he would've stood his ground. But because it's the East Blue cooks, there's nothing he can do to go and protect them, so he's just stuck. Anyway, I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about this arc in general (could you guess, not that I'm biased for Sanji anyway, but you know me). Just thought I'd throw my 20 cents in the ring (way more than 2), as your casual not at all biased Sanji fan.

I believe the extra transition are only for these episodes, which is still weird. Ruff was so mad, if I recall, that they chose these episodes to do this, lol.

sanji lucky zoro didn’t go on this trip bc that would’ve went completely different

Guddy

WEEEW! one piece is all about these moments! truly heart breaking. scenes like these (with sanji and luffy) make all the filler worth it

Vanvirtual

Take a shot every intermission xD

Everyone’s tough until the “Memories” ED theme starts playing (Idk if u skipped the Ending themes at the beginning of the series but this is the first Ending theme of the series the animation studio loves to use it and bring it back to rub salt in our wounds sometimes) Also a lot of fans really underestimate how Zoro would act in these moments if he were there. He’s a lot more understanding in situations like this and ppl forget that and he also respects Sanji. This isn’t Ussop v Luffy where the situation was entirely different Also RIP ppl in Japan who had to see this on TV with whole ass commercials after every intermission

Tell me you don’t understand Zoro as a character without telling me you don’t understand Zoro as a character ^

Absolutely, and Zoro is the most aware of what Sanji is willing to give up for the crew (re thriller bark), so if he was there the only difference maybe would be that Luffy and him would figure something out a lot faster because neither of them would be willing to believe his bullshit. I have so many thoughts and feelings on the possible interactions. Damn Oda, why you do this to us?
