SCREAMING INTENSIFIES. Okay so I didn't see this live so lemme try to address the things I heard that I remember. 1. Flames of Truth was an extra cutscene you unlocked by doing a line of quests involving Bahamut (eggy dragon) to find out what happened after your party was warped off of the battlefield. FFXIV launched for over a year with just... terrible everything, and the "A Realm Reborn" questline was to keep players subscribed while they tried to fix it. So- The first opening was the original FFXIV. The second opening was actually also an ending. Once they had plans to relaunch the game, every time you logged in there would be a countdown to "Impact" and there was a series of quests you could do to try and stop Dalamud (big fire egg with surprise dragon inside) from hitting the planet. Including praying to the 12 (the gods they worship, and the ones you can see people praying to/their symbols trying to trap Bahamut) and fighting bad guys in an all out war. Once the countdown hit 0, you could no longer log into the game, but there was a button to click in the login section that brought up the video. So anyone playing at the time saw the representation of our party get fucked off the field by the old elf dude, and then it ended. When A Realm Reborn finally came out (2 years later!!!!) We got the second half of the opening that shows all the cities and characters 5 years in the future, and then the party representation showed up out of nowhere in a forest. Back to my point, Flames of Truth is everything that happened when elfy punched Bahamut out of the sky, and you only saw it if you did the quests. People strung it together with the first opening because it made sense. 2. The locations on the map are being showcased in each opening, so yes, you can go to all of those places. In Heavensward, we got flight (sky islands) and in Stormblood we got underwater exploration. 3. I am so sad I play on a legacy server because I'd totes tell you to join me on the game lmao - but legacy servers are always overpopulated and a bitch to create new characters on 4. All of FFXIV's music fucking slaps. idk if you noticed, but the Endwalkers theme had elements from all the previous (Heavensward in the transition to those creepy flying chicks, Stormblood in the transition back to robed dude in creepy area watching the map burn, Shadowbringers as catgirl is walking down the steps) 5. I had such a conundrum asking for this one because Shadowbringers is best watched with the english voices, but Endwalkers is better with the Japanese (because Alisae's voice is just fking awful in english imo) but no video had that mashup and it seemed dumb to try and direct that lol. If you play, pls do it with Japanese dialogue because the english voice acting has gone through some shit, changes halfway through, and just doesn't get the tonal feel for the characters. IE: Alisae sounded so old in the Endwalkers trailer, but the twins are like 17, and she's way more cutesy tsundere and sassy in Japanese. What are numbers: Endwalkers is going to be the final chapter in the 10+ year long overarching plot we've had in FFXIV. It's set up to be the conclusion (we were promised it's not the end of the game and there will be more content later, but this is the end of that particular era) and yes, we are going to the moon. In terms of the music though, Shadowbringers and Endwalkers themes are on another level - and the theme of Heavensward (It's called Dragonsong) wasn't in the trailer. Same with Stormblood's. ANYWAY I ranted enough now, thanks so much for reacting to these! Made my day. And later we'll be tuning in to catch up with you on One Piece :D
