There is a live action series in the making – but I don't think they will get Jim Carrey. The headwriter is a real One Piece fan and Oda is directly involved so maybe it will be good or at least ok.

Also I meant to comment this when I was watching earlier but forgot. Every now and then Oda likes to loosely model a character off of actors and musicians. Like Jango the hypnotist is basically a combo of Michael Jackson and Mick Jagger. And Dr. Kureha was totally modeled after Geddy Lee. There will be others coming up later on.

Sometimes even the littlest details matter in this series. There is something in this episodes that nearly no one ever considered to be important. But it was very likely recontextualized with new information we got in an episode that aired (!) a few weeks ago – and it is hidden at a very fitting place.

Hey Boom, I'm a bit late to seeing this. This is probably my favorite arc of the 3 before getting to Alabasta. One thing. Keep in mind the name of Blackbeard. He's name-dropped here, but will be very important later. I think a lot of people forget this arc is where we first "encounter" him.
