Something a little different - I thought I'd show my current options for where I can draw (and how things tend to go sideways).

My first option was by the river, 1000 ft away from the house. It's a small clearing on undeveloped land, and the surrounding vegetation does a good job at filtering out a lot of unwanted noise. Plus that feeling of being out in nature, with the breeze coming off the river, it's just (chefs' kiss).

The other day, I definitely needed a change of scenery to sort of kickstart my brain. I took a folding chair, a canopy, and a cooler w/ drinks out to the river, hoping to at least get Daisy's base figure drawn. Unfortunately after setting up the canopy, it took me about 20 minutes to cool down, because it was 80° F and humid out. And then fire ants started nipping at my feet every couple of minutes, for the rest of the hour that I was there. I packed up and went home, with nothing accomplished.

Back home, I knew I wasn't going to get anything done in my room (second pic), because I'm always in there. My workspace is cramped, and while I can do technical work just fine, I struggle with anything creative. Working, watching TV, and playing games from the same (increasingly uncomfortable) chair leaves me feeling somewhat caged, whenever it's time for me to draw.

The room across from mine has exactly what I've been missing for the past several years - a couch. I've tried drawing in office chairs, recliners, beach chairs, and on whatever bed is available to me, but nothing compares to a good couch. The main reason I hadn't used it sooner, is simply because the room wasn't available until fairly recently. The workstation in there isn't my own.

Outside noise can still be distracting, but I've found that even a small fan can produce enough white noise to drown it out. Highly recommended!
