Poor TJ. I guess that answers the questions about his sexuality. Nice job; I'm a fan of the implied stuff and little hints in the narration, here through TJ's innocent observations and in Echo proper; a lot of writers feel the need to spell things out explicitly, and you (Howly?) seem to be avoiding it pretty well so far, which I really like. It's interesting seeing how the tone changes based on whose point of view we're reading from, too. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to the next one.

To elaborate on that last comment: I like this post. This is a good post. It takes good writing to expound upon character and situation without being (as Jonathan noted) as explicit as the redundancy department of redundancy. There are still pretty explicit descriptions and I think you could have gone even less direct with some of the description near the end, if you want to leave room for thought. Of course, that story is what happened and is now cannon. No complaints. Very good character illumination. Great job! Excited to read more.
