Here are a few drawings done by Leone of the grumpy garrobo Flynn. What do you guys think?

Dat resolution. Wow, looks like Leone already has a pretty firm grasp on the original character design. He looks great! Got his trademark, open Steve-Irwin shirt and uh... I guess that's just the design pattern of his undies, but it kinda looks like a diaper, to be honest. Funny that on his first impression of Flynn, the artist draws him with his belt undone. Haven't played much of the game yet, but that seems appropriate. Lol. So long as it's not just clearly hanging open in his regular sprites or in any intense dialogue scenes. That'd just look silly/inappropriate to the scene (and perhaps a little distracting). Oh, speaking of intense dialgoue; I just thought of some character design detail. I think it'd be cool if, when Flynn gets really angry, his external-head-spine starts to stand up? Now I'm just making crap up. TL;DR: Good!

Thanks for your in depth reply, as always. We will definitely be sure to address that underwear design issue (cannot be unseen) and don't worry about the sprite having the belt undone. I believe our artist was just trying to exude Flynn's sexual nature. As for the spines, that was actually something we have thought about doing, so it's highly likely!

Amazing! If Flynn wasn't already my favorite character, then this would definitely convince me. Maybe the undies could be a different color, to make them not look so much like diapers, as Mr. Goldthorp below said?

I'm pretty sold on this design for Flynn notwithstanding the diaper-looking underwear, lol. And I like Joseph's idea of having his spines standing up!

Fantastic and very detailed concept art. Would look great in the game. Love the facial expressions in the character. Keeps his expression solid but at the same time shows much more in terms of physical interpretation. Has lots of potential for input and character development/ facial interaction. I also do agree with Joseph's input on the spines and the underwear.
