Aaaand here it is, after an incredibly frustrating week losing a chunk of writing and a bunch of assets which I guess speaks more to my poor job at backing stuff up than anything. Anyway, this effectively completes Carl's route. It's still a bit rough, mainly due to the issues I had writing it, but I'll be sure to revisit it while adding in the emotive sprites if I feel it needs to be fleshed out more. It will help me out if you guys let me know what you think in the comments!

Change Log:

-Carl's path B complete

-Edited Carl sprite

Ok, so here's my opinion on this : this is great, but, for me, it looks more like a rough sketch than an actual update. You made the decision - which I respect by the way... even though I can't say that I'm not disappointed ^^ - to not make Chase and Carl become boyfriends. But the thing is : with path A, everything closes nicely. You explain why they don't get together, what happens, etc. But with path B, it just feels like reading the end of a novel and being cut halfway through a sentence. I get that you don't want to go down the traditional route of a complete and conclusive ending with this one, but in my opinion, things should be, as you said, more fleshed out. And this is just for Carl and Chase. but what happens to the other two ? If Carl's a murderer, does he go to jail ? think, even if you want an open end, that it should be more... conclusive. So that it doesn't leave the impression of the work being just unfinished. As for the rest, it's great : the writing, the dream dimension... Really, it's a great story ! Can't wait for what you have in store for us next :D

Is there going to be updates for Android? If not please inform me because currently that is my only option for playing these games. Also you didn't post a link I will keep an eye out but I disabled funds anyways not just for you. Recently hit a tough patch so inform me if you do an Android update or something

Route A is telling carl to reject the spirit inside him, that route is finished to get Route B you'd tell carl to keep the spirit, listen to it more

Ok, so… I thought about this long and hard ( ha ! ) and I’ve finally figured out what really bothered me with th ending b. In fact, contrary to what I’ve said before, it’s not that it feels rushed – though a little « The end » would be nice ^^. Re-reading it, it is great : when you’ve played ending A, you know what’s happening exactly. And the mirroring between the way both end is really nice : while Carl gets out of route A stronger, he gets out of route B dimished to the point of nothingness – who could blame him. No, my problem is about payoff. You see, in route b, everything goes to shit. You obviously make the wrong decision in letting Carl listen to the spirit, and you’re punished for it, sort of. But, in route A when you make the obvious good choice – indicated by how all those around you get out of this ghost adventure – you’re punished. I say punished, because this game could be best described as horror and romance. But, as the story progresses, the romantic aspect that was very present in the beginning – at least for Carl – dwindles down to nothing. And in the end, the protagonist and him don’t get together. And to me, that’s a problem in termes of storytelling, because having them look so close to falling in love, and at the end, when everybody thought that romance would ensue – not even sex, who cares ? – taking it away from the player… it’s a strange choice, even for a video game, where the idea of reward is key. In my opinion, it be best if they got together at the end of route A, cause now that route B is completed, that’s what, from my point of view, feels most natural. I mean, in what other route would the opportunity present itself ? So here it is. I hope I didn’t sound like a whiny brat who got an xbox instead of a ps4 for Christmas ^^. Nonetheless, I stand by what I’ve said : great game, great team, happy to be supporting you !

Very nice work, Howly. Back before the paths were complete I made the path A decision as I had a bad feeling about the other option, which was proved true. I liked the touch about the two sets of footprints at the end. There's some uncertainty about the fate of the other two there. I can see how it would feel better to have some more certainty in the form of an epilogue or something. Having just finished path B before writing this however, I think it would be diminished by something like that. That end, fade to black and five to ten seconds of black screen and silence before the title screen pops up is what it needs. The reader is left uncertain and it just feels right, I can't say why it does, but it does. In the same way that path A needs that last section in Pueblo to end properly, path B needs to end right there, uncertainty and all. (Edit) It just came to me, the BBC's Ghostwatch play ends in a similar fashion. As with Echo, any other ending just would not work.

exactly right for Route A meanwhile Route B has some sex, but a demented hand job from the spirit in your best friend's body just what the hell lol

*Spoilers* I hate to be critical, considering how much I absolutely LOVE this game, but I feel like something is missing between the A and B endings for Carl. I really enjoyed the A ending, though a bit confusing made sense for the most part; and their relationship going back to being nonromantic was sensible and justified. For ending B however, a lot of things are left uncertain. Like, are Jenna and Raven actually dead, despite the nice touch of the footprints being present. What happens after the event? And to the rest of the friend group? What becomes of Chase and Carl's relationship? While I do appreciate the aspect of uncertainty, I fell as though there is just too much of it to make for a logical ending point. Again, I absolutely LOVE this game and the story, I just wish there was a bit more closure in Carl ending B like there was in ending A.

Don't even talk about it ! They made a hell of a good job making it akward and disgusting as hell ! Which is a bit sad, I suppose, because I felt - muh precious feefees ! - punished, no matter what I did...

I got the worse/bad endings unintentionally before I got the good endings. Glad there was a good ending and I respect where it went! Also glad to come back from another extensive period of hibernation and binge all the Echo updates! Keep up the neato work Howly+Friends!
