The modeling & photography scene in downtown Los Angeles reminds me of the cliquey popular kids in high school. I do go there sometimes to book shoots, but most of the photographers are arrogant pricks who expect me to spend the night with them, or horny gwcs (guy with camera) who pay standard rates but mostly only care about trying to get crotch shots. Both those photographer archetypes are very flakey anyway.

Then there is Jorge Kreimer, a Peruvian artist who lives and creates art at his loft in the heart of downtown. He doesn't like to be labeled a "photographer", as his photos are used to create unique mixed media decor: 3D sculptures, light-up displays, metal cut-outs, as well as other creative projects. His art is often displayed in galleries.

A steaming euro-style espresso is offered upon arrival each time I arrive to model for him, then we chat about our latest news for 15 minutes or so. Jorge likes his models to be completely comfortable to accomplish emotive, dynamic images.

Empowerment is his art's purpose. Anything sissy, frilly, submissive, or objectifying is not his style. He gives constant positive reinforcement when I pose for him, reminding me not to pose, but to emote!

The images here are from our recent shoot, and you can see they are unique from anything else in my portfolio. These are not posed! They show me in raw form, not sucking in my tummy or sticking out my butt.

When I model for Jorge Kreimer, he treats me like a human being to be celebrated as opposed to a hot body to be documented.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy receiving flattering glamour images, but this unconventional style is an exciting break from my norm.
