VW Graveyard Photos by Travis (Patreon)

I am still battling between "seeking out" cool locations while traveling on road trips, or just coming across them by chance. this particular location off highway 287 in Texas was one I googled! It was along our route on the way to Dallas. I am so glad we checked it out! 

In this photo set, I kept in a few of the BTS shots where I am getting warm in my jacket, some shots where you can see my van in the background, and a shot where I am cuddled up in my van on the floor with my hands and feet hugging the propane heater vent LOL... um yeah it was 30 degrees farenheit outside! I took several breaks in between bursts of photos to get this whole set.

It's called the VW Slugbug Ranch! Travelers kept stopping by to take photos and I had to either hide or throw my jacket back on. One couple asked us if we had seen the Cadillac ranch... which is apparently the original version of this slug bug installation (came to find out the slug bug setup was a "parody" of the cadillac one!)

***Amidst A Huge Cali Trip!***

If you have been following me on social media, you may have seen I am in the middle of a road trip! I am heading down the west coast, just wrapped up a San Francisco tour AND the other day I had a freak-out moment when my alternator went out! I had a workshop shoot that morning with ten photographers counting on me to be there, so I pulled some strings and magically found a nearby auto shop that not only had availability for me, but also finished the job in time for me to pick up my van between gigs and drive to my last shoot of that day! HOLY SHIT it was such a success! It cost me about $480, but I consider that a blessing- it could have been a lot worse! 

Now I am getting into Joshua Tree! I have a shoot here with a photographer friend of mine tomorrow, and he is going to take Travis and I to some cool spots he knows of in the park :) 

What a rollercoaster!
