Good evening readers! (at least it is evening for me at the moment I'm writing these lines, since the sun has decided to sleep early in these winter times)

Sorry to not have been giving news these last few days, but the week has been productive by my standards.

The Chapter 25 of An Impractical Guide to Godhood, The Ransom of Success, has been written and sent to the betas.

The Chapter 24, at the same time, has been properly betaed (though I will re-read it one more time before updating it everywhere) and is developing the insanity to my satisfaction.

As a consequence, Return to Hell is also read to be read one more time to warm you up before Chapter 25.

BWHAHAHA!

Ahem.

I will probably make a general announcement on Saturday or Sunday about certain things. For now, I just want to inform you that next week will be dedicated to this month's The odds were never in my favour update. It is time to give Alexandra her time to shine in 2024.

Hope you had a nice beginning of this new year, and continue to read!

Holy crap this series has gotten crazy. Shame about the lack of nukes but I am not disappointed! Also I see the shipping fights will be interesting to see after this quest. Provided said characters are alive by then

Lovely waking up to an update

Fantastic Chapter. Zeus shows once again while he's a moron who survived only because he has the biggest stick...but for how much longer? The splitting of the various worlds to stop people asking for help from the other Pantheon's is an interesting diversion in this version of reality. As Percy mentioned to Lou, he has ways of getting information but he can't get magical help....yet. I did like the interaction with Athena, that was good...but am curious at her line about Annabeth and looking forward to seeing how that plays out. Percy seemed to have taken it seriously at least. ...Percy admitting that he is going to tell people what he is planning and is waiting to see how long it is before people ask him to go back to surprising them was hilarious. Really looking forward to seeing the battle now!

Seems that Percy finally gathered his Armada and is ready for upcoming battle. Of course, strength of his fleet is somewhat diminished by the fact, that after the battle it will be basically race against time who will betray whom first ;) Still can't wait for next chapter :) Small question for the author: since we have Red October and Ramius, any chances to find among Legionnaries some demigood called Ryan ? :)

i ship leo x hera

Antony444

Thanks for the enthusiasm! And yeah 'Force S' is a ba of betrayals just waiting for one wrong or right reason to detonate... Ha! We will see if there's a Legionnaire named Ryan in the reinforcements Perseus got...

I saw the mention of Loki and am wondering what type of deal Percy made with Eris. I don't think we have seen the Goddess of Discord mentioned and I have to think she would really like Percy. Or does she hate Percy because he is planning to usurp her?

Cole

Is Anne Bonney and the second chance not part of the armada?

Antony444

Anne Bonney is part of Task Force S. The Second Chance is not. Perseus is not going to send the bombardment for a multitude of reasons, but the main one is undoubtedly that the poor galleon wouldn't stand a chance to fulfill its role in the carnage to come.

Antony444

Eris was present on Olympus when a lot of Goddesses bickered to 'win' the right of being Zeus' new wife. Apart from that, no, you haven't seen her. And no, she doesn't hate Percy. Why would she? He creates proper amounts of discord...
