The writing effort had to be maximal for this chapter, but it has been completed in time for the end of the year.

Here is The Wisdom of Crowds, unbetaed chapter 54 of The Dance is not Over.

To be clear, I very much want to insist on the 'unbetaed' part. I didn't have much time at all to do the re-reading this week, and writing 10,000+ words in 4 days when there were other real-life activities to take care of was...a not-so-minor challenge.

But the chapter is done. All the corrections will wait for another week (and another year).

As I already hinted in previous posts, I will be unavailable tomorrow and the day after.

Busy celebrating my 33rd birthday (for tomorrow) and the New Year (the day after), see my grandmother, etc...

Stories will resume next week after a short pause.

When exactly? Difficult to say. A certain Tyrant has been vociferating that since this world is already crazy, it is reasonable that the year 2024 begins on a crazy note.

This would mean writing a new chapter of an Impractical Guide to Godhood, for those readers who don't get the hint (evil grin).

Obviously, the preparations aren't done, but when has it stopped the Suicide Squad? (if you cackle in laughter reading it, I decline all responsibility)

Oh, well...it's possible I will post a poll next week (not certain).

For the rest, there are the announcements...I will try to put the other stories which are not yet on Archive of our Own there, so that the alternative exists (though TWO and the Dance is not Over are also on alternate history).

I wish you all a happy end of the year (which definitely looks more and more like a timeline where the authors have been particularly lazy).

I hope all of you are healthy, enjoy the winter holidays, and let's hope the year 2024 will be saner than the year 2023 (Perseus 'the Tyrant' Jackson cackles heavily in the distance, I alas must inform you).

Bests,

Great chapter, I loved seeing the fallout of Highgarden in Dorne, Storms end and Bandillon, but I was disapointed that we didn't get to see Lady Tyrell being mad at her son and annoyed at the new Lannister - Baratheon alliance. Although it hindsight, she may realize that Daeron could never have accepted it. Anway, cannot wait to find out more about the Florent incident.

About Braavos, Baela is more favorable to Pentos because she does not want Braavos to become too powerful, but to act on the side of Pentos could cause her some trouble since her kingdoms hate slavery, especially the North. As well as make Braavos hate her. Would it not be better for her to side with Braavos, while demanding part of Pentos' agricultural land for her kingdom and making sure Pentos remains partly or fully independent to be both weak enought for Baela to control, and strong enough to serve as a roadblock while reminding Braavos of the power of the Dragons?

Happy Birthday as well!
