Well, it took more time than I expected (for which I blame Real Life and his Putrid Majesty Nicholas III of Russia) but the chapter has been written.

Here is chapter 93 of The odds were never in my favour, Dance or Despair.

Enjoy!

(for those wondering about the planning, I haven't yet decided what comes after. You will have to wait for a few days, there will be an announcement post).

Good lord Alexandra is viciously evil

Anonymous

One issue of internal logic - never mind the curses, but after getting kicked there Ronnie-boy is not going to do any talking for several minutes. With a real kick he'd be puking and mostly delirious, barely conscious. Humans are fragile - unless you're making the wizardborn a lot more sturdy?

Ronald just leaped into a spike trap, didn't he? God I can't wait to see what disasters he and Leo have as dates. Also is Romanov gonna be big sister? Because she's giving some big sister vibes here, and im more okay with that than I expected. And Alexandra is truly taking her revenge out in the most Slytherin of fashions.

Don't forget that it's Hermione who struck him physically. As wrathful as she was, Hermione Granger is extremely weaker than Alexandra (if it had been Alexandra doing this, Ron would be in the hospital for a few days).

That was a fun chapter, thanks for sharing! Man, Dumbledore trying to be diplomatic with Neville's potions 'skills' was kind of funny. As hypocritical as this Dumbledore is, I still kind of felt a little bad for him trying to work out how the hell his standard-bearer was this inept.

Bel

And then there were Neville's thoughts on how 'easy' runes were, which is a bit much. Yes, as others have said, Alexandra is EVIL when it comes back to getting back at those who snubbed her. And man, Ra 'disposing' of those tainted is just another sign of how monstrous the Light can be...

Yes, and Ra's move plays directly into his brothers hands

Please stay safe; the world is getting far too 'interesting,' to put it in very mild terms. Very good chapter. I'm finding myself more and more intrigued by Romanov and her interactions with Alexandra; they almost seem like frenemies, and I'm curious as to how their relationship continues to develop. Ra continues to exemplify 'Light is not good.' Yikes. Alexandra proves just how evilly vindictive she can be (I love it), and Ron sets a new low for intelligence by seriously thinking that Hermione would accept an invitation to the Winter Ball from him. Thanks again for the chapter. Stay safe and stay healthy.

You're welcome. Glad you liked Dumbledore's POV. He somehow convinced himself that the Potions preliminary was a consequence of it being too difficult, the Champions were unprepared, and more...but now it's the Third Task, and the Gryffindor Champion is not up to the job...(to be fair Hooper wouldn't be either; Angelina would be a far better choice).

Antony444

Thanks a lot! A lot of comments you will have a reason to remember once we move to the Third Task (which will come in chapter 95 or 96; I would love to be the 95, but I fear there's still some background info which is necessary plus some stuff...). Next chapter; can't remember if I said it out loud, is 94, the Winter Ball.

"What was the point of being the Champion of Fate again?" He was fated to go shopping in Paris? lol
