This teaser has the first 5000 words of the next chapter of the Extermination Arc. It answers a critical question: have the Black Templars remembered something worthwhile from Taylor's conversation after the Battle of the Death Star? It will also begin to lay down the issue 'will they learn the good lessons of the Battle of Commorragh?'

This part is the last light in the darkness. The escalation is going out of control, and from then the title of the chapter is going to be incredibly justified.

Let Commorragh burn...

Dear Man-Emperor the Black Templars are going fucking nuts. I love it.

Oh boy I can already feel Taylor and Rogal bonding over their mutual exasperation over the Black Templar’s upcoming shenanigans.

Can’t wait for the salamanders to collectively lose their shit when their Gloriana battleship suddenly reapers leading a Black Templar’s and guardsmen ‘relief’ force....I mean at this point Taylor might be given yet another Space marine chapter to house in her sector, so that would be 3 chapters and a elite bodyguard group that is only going to grow right now. And with her plans to max out the 2 Space Marine chapters that she has currently that could be eventually 2,000 plus Marines in just her regular chapters that she currently has without even factoring in the Heracles Wardens or any chapters that will decide to move closer to her to be involved in the next impromptu crusade she decides to launch ‘cough’ ‘Black Templar’s’ ‘cough’ ..... I mean hell she might only stop collecting Marine chapters when she runs out of planets to let them recruit from. Even then fortress monasteries are a thing....

Are there Heresy era Salamander space marines on that Gloriana or did they all disembark to Isstvan? Besides the Gloriana itself being invaluable, it probably has Vulcans personal quarters on it which just from a historical perspective is probably invaluable to the Salamanders.

A gloriana? Shit man

Boris Michenski

So... when Emperor did burst Slaanesh time-soul boble, Tzeentch decided to cut his losses and do the same. AS a result Salamander's Gloriana is free and here we go... boy, are they about to receive a nasty shock. Will Flamewroght go directly into Commarragh, Correspour? Will there even be enough space? Wait... Aurelia said that Melian's spire did desintegrate... will story repeat it self, but bigger? And how many Astartes did just return to the reality? Did number of Salamander's just grew many times? And BT get their Crusade. To be fair what did happen does seem to be a real Miracle... in a way: "What are you doing, you Idiots! Here I've no other choice but expend my powers to save your stupid lives, because you are too stupid to do it youselves! Here, have you Priomarch on the end of the line, may be he will be able to beat some stupid out of you!!!"

Dale

I can't help but want to hug The Grumpy Changer of Ways right now. He's basically throwing his hands up on how many different plans right now? And because he's in a bit of a snit, he decides not to even bother letting Slaanesh know just how much WORSE his/her/its troubles are about to get! A Crusades Era SLAMANDER BATTLESHIP?!? Don't even get me started about the Black Templars somehow stumbling on a way to get into the fun! Oh poor Taylor, she's NEVER going to be able to scrape the Black Templars off, is she? Once they realize that Taylor's luck leads her into scenes of such carnage to make even a Bloodthirster of Khorne might have to pause and blink in shock they're going to be doing everything they can to 'stealthily' insure they're ready for Taylor's next "Adventure"

frank schellingerhout

wonder when taylor make's a list showing the black templars are ork in all but name other wise knows as lemmings interesting that there is a rogue trader also close to help wonder what his rewards are could be a good contact list for taylors own idea's of making someone rogue trader

Antony444

Oh everybody is going to be glorious insane...of course it's w40k, so it's par the course, really.

Antony444

There are plenty of survivors from Isstvan aboard the Gloriana. Many of them were wounded or had their formations battered to near-impotence by treason and have been fighting the last thousands of years in the Warp knowing they have abandoned their Primarch...needless to say, they have some anger issues to vent on daemons and traitors.

Dale

What I love is the hints that EVERYONE anywhere near Pavia (and now the other Webway Gate) are beginning to come RUNNING to help!

Antony444

It is on its way to the Corespur, yes, like the original invasion of Commorragh should have been. Of course, you might have noticed, there are some major differences in the scenario...

Antony444

Tzeentch has decided the battle is lost and whatever energy expended containing the madness is going to be lost forever. It's better to sacrifice a few pawns and regroup to fight another day...which is a very sane reaction, but it's too bad for the pawns...and for Slaanesh.

MehOhWell

Woke up at 6:00 local time still stuck in quarantine expecting another shitty day. Then I saw this and suddenly everything was great again. Thank you Antony for somehow upping the WTF factor from Fulgrim and Rogal Dorn showing up at the same time while Weaver noms the dipshit space slavers with their own pets. And as always I have to ask, do you have an ETA for us on the rest of the chapter?

FOR THE EMPEROR

Antony444

You're welcome. The chapter's completion...for the non-betaed final version, I'm going for March 5, though it's only a vague estimate, plenty of things can change with the context of the quarantine. For the beta-ed chapter, let's say the end of March (very tentative, obviously).

Thank you very much for your work, Anthony444. It is always a high point in the day/week wenn another part of The Weaver Option gets posted. I really like the small details that go into the storytelling: like in this Teaser, the Rogue Trader Grand Olivia Cheshire shows up. I take it is the descendant of the builder of the Water Opera on Nyx? It is truly a small Galaxy we live in! The new Basilea might need to have strong words with her...

Antony444

Always glad to hear it. We will all need some cheer between Nurgle plagues... And no, this Rogue Trader isn't the descendant of the builder. She is the builder of the Water Opera...

Confused

Love it I need more!

she is very old i didn't know that the rejuvenation treatments were so effective .....

Mackenzie Buckle

I was wondering if the Black Templar's were going to join in. where they surprised by the origin of the call for reinforcement?

Forgottenone

Antony you're evil plans are more numerous then Tzeentch, more infectious then Nurgle plagues, and have subtilty of Khorne berserker charging off to war. (note Slaanesh is no longer a major faction)

Lee Moffat

Poor Tzeentch, he thought he could get away with an evil speech in 7.1 and now everything is on fire. It's gotten so chaotic out there that the most chaotic of the Chaos Gods has decided to fold and just walk away from this giant dumpster fire. I like how Tzeentch said the Primarchs were negated and now Dorn is back, it said the Admech had lost too much and now STCs are making a comeback and it said hope was dead... The Emperor, The Sanguinor, Dorn, Taylor and millions of loyal servants of the Imperium declare that it is wrong. Hope has been rekindled. I'm looking forward to everyone going through the After Action Reports and analysing everything for what went right and wrong and how to improve. Meanwhile, the Black Templars will look at it and analyse for signs of further miracles from the God-Emperor, they'll see the poetic justice of the deaths of the pirates at Pavia as the first miracle of the battle, Taylor's transformation after Drazhar, Cawl and the Salamanders arriving to rescue the first echelon and now the return of a Gloriana from Istvaan.

Antony444

Warp travel also cut some years if there are some time-space shenagigans...

Antony444

Yep. They didn't receive the call to redeploy to Pavia in time, they were already translating in the Desaderian Gulf...

Antony444

Yep, Tzeentch might learn to...moderate his monologues. Or not, he's not the Great Liar. As for the rest, yes there's going to be a lot to be assimilated and proposed from the after-action reports.

Flamewrought is not *just* a Battleship, she is THE Battleship considering that there is only 5 known Glorianas in use and in Loyalist hands at this point + besides Hrafnkel she is likely the most dangerous ship in short to medium range amongst the Glorianas and likely the best armored baring none Loyalist or traitor

Antony444

Yep. Of course Flamewrought is far from in excellent condition following her advantures at Isstvan and in the Warp, but no one has anything like it in the vicinity...

philip

Wonder that after the MOC, will the BT emperor champion seek out Kratos to have a "friendly" dual... It would pretty much interesting to see how the champions sieze each other up in the the dual.... Just sayin'

Antony444

Well, normally these inter-Chapter duels are not common since no Chapter wants to lose an elite fighter in a vigorous duel...but there's always the Dawnbreaker Guard...the place of Champion is taken, but not the one of Emperor's Champion...

CrazedGamma1721

I Can't-Wait For The Next Chapter/Preview Of The Weaver Option.

Mackenzie Buckle

after thinking about the Black Templar pov I think I understand Gavreel's memo from 7-1
