at least you will have time to write since we are all confined

True. Although if everyone obeyed the confinement procedures...sigh...

Interesting enough, though I know very little of French history before France's more infamous Corsican took over. Other than the obvious, a popular king about to die and leave a very young heir in charge, what's the historical significance of the insertion point?

Antony444

A very unpopular King is about to die, in fact. We are four days before the death of Louis XIV of France, and since he pretty much ruined France in the last wars, people are not fond of him. René Duguay-Trouin is an exception because he plundered much gold and silver from Rio De Janeiro. And the new King to come is the five-years-old Louis XV...who is infamous for having lost the first French colonal empire and it's generally admitted his behaviour and his disastrous reign paved the way for the 1789 revolution. Louis XV began as 'the Beloved' and ended his reign with a lot of loathful nicknames...

I think that when this iteration did not work, Watcher signed and sent several souls. Creating future God-Emperor of Mankind, who kinda averted most disasters even if not doing too much before Unification Wars :D
