Look the manga when you have the time, as you imagined the damage on Uryuu was censored here!

Every Shonen fan says this about their Shonen of choice. There are allusions to concepts but it's really not that deep. It's a nice aesthetic, but I think the depth is overblown. You can death-of-the-author all you want and make it as deep as you want from the outside, but ultimately it was just an ending that made use of his character's theme. Nothing too complex here. Bleach has a lot of cool themes that make you think a little more deeply about stuff, but it never has time to explore any of it in depth, and leaving all of that as an exercise to the reader over and over doesn't deserve as much praise as Kubo seems to get for theme writing imo.

I've been watching anime since early 90s man. And have rewatched the big 3 multiples times. When I grew up and matured I realized Bleach was in a lane of its own...you either see it or don't

Just because Bleach has a lot of themes that Kubo sprinkles in like seasoning salt doesn't mean that he deserves all the praise in the world for being an incredibly deep writer. He wrote a battle Shonen that touches on deep topics, but most of the depth has basically been put in by the readers and content creators. That's a clever writing trick, to make your readers think there's way more behind the curtain than there actually is, but it's not an "in-depth exploration of the human condition through the lens of death" like I've literally seen people describe it as. I'm not shitting on Bleach AT ALL, I think it's great and a ton of fun, but I also don't agree with the insane depth that was mostly added in via video-essay after the fact.
