🍨🎮 Yumykon Games Devlog #002 (Patreon)

This week, I produced some concept art for the eroge game, I want to talk a little about it because it will be free and will probably be released before my OCs' game.

The game will be like a Tamagochi, like those Pou or Talking Tom games, you know?

But you take care of your goth girlfriend!

Feeding her, making her have fun, sending her to take a bath, accompanying her to the bathroom to do her business, fulfilling her carnal needs 😏

She is a very needy girl, she needs you while doing everthing ~

So the concept of the game is to have all this Tamagotchi dynamic and some nude and sex scenes. To start planning the game I made some very illustrative concepts, they do not represent anything finalized.

 

I've already done part of the game's programming in the game engine, but nothing too cool that I'd like to show, just some modularization of objects and preparing the game's architecture.

The game will be released on Itch.io, I want it to be the first game that introduces everyone to my game studio, I was also thinking... should I release it on Steam for free? What you guys think?

Also, what do you think about the game being 9:16?? I made it thinking about it being playable on mobile through Itch.io, after all, with a mobile phone you can play with left hand and use the other for recreational purposes 🤭

Anyway, that’s what I’ve done for this game this week. I plan to do a few more things today, but I'm saving those to show next week.

Now, I’ll talk a bit about my OCs’ game.

This week, I spent some time writing the game’s story because it's important to ensure I don't get stuck in certain parts of development. You know when you want to create something but aren’t sure if it’ll actually be in the game?

Well, with a small piece of the initial story written, I started working on a cutscene for the beginning of the game. I haven’t finished the storyboard for this scene yet, but this is how I usually plan the game’s cutscenes:

I won't explain the context of this cutscene; I'll leave it to your imagination. 👀

I also made some mockups for the mini-games. There's a moment at the beginning of the game where Kari takes a bath, and almost everything in the game will be a funny mini-game to play.

Aside from these things, I set up repositories on GitHub for both the Eroge and my OCs' game to keep the project versioned. Since it had been a long time since I last used it, I struggled a lot with the setup (and had to resort to GitHub Desktop 🤣).

I've been thinking about the name for my OCs’ game. I don’t know what to call it, and I keep saying “my OCs’ game,” which bothers me a bit.

While writing the game’s story, I thought of the following name: Yumykon Monogatari: Hakkā ni Damasareru no wa Watashi ja Nai!

Since the game is set in Japan and I wanted to give it an anime feel, I thought a name like this would be cool. But it might bother people who don’t get that aspect, so I’m worried about what I should do
