This will be a bit of a lengthy post, but it's an important one so I'd appreciate any input you all have! I wrote a few key points at the bottom if you wanna skip to there.

Please check out the webcomic page I made here for an example of what you could expect from it:

We're nearing the end of my MHA comic and I need to decide what I want to work on after. I've teased it before on Twitter, but I've been working off n on for the last year on developing a NSFW webcomic idea for my characters Nera and her friends. What I'd like to do is be able to finally start working on it through Patreon here, but I also want to know what you all would prefer as far as my content here.

My options are either I make my personal webcomic, continue only making comics of existing shows (fanart content), or work on both, alternating. Personally, I'd like to be able to make my own comic; it offers a lot more freedom and, considering the fears of adult content on the web recently, I feel it'd be a lot safer to be making content of my own creation. I probably won't be asking for suggestions as often as to where the story goes, but I would be open to the idea of you guys helping me choose what parts of the world to develop, making background characters, and other design choices. It also allows me to post more WIP content here so you can see the creation of characters/environments/etc.

I also have the option to work on both my webcomic and the fanart comics I've been doing like MHA, but the problem with this is it means at my current schedule (1 page every other week) I'll only be able to get out 1 page of each comic per month, which would be slow and a bit tedious to work with two stories at once.

So here's where I want you guys to decide, and please choose the option you'd want the most. Should I work on my personal webcomic, work on more fanart comics, or work on both?

KEY POINTS:

-I've developed a webcomic focusing on Nera, her friends, and the world I've created for them. Do you want me to focus on creating it?

-THIS WILL NOT AFFECT MY ANIMATIONS! I have a set weekly schedule to work on comics Tues-Wed and animations Fri-Sun, so no matter what's chosen here the output of my animations will stay the same.

-No mater the outcome of this, I want to do at least on more mini fanart comic like my MHA one, but this one will be much shorter, think 4-6 pages instead of 20.

-I haven't decided which route I'll go with this. I'm making this poll purely to see how many of you want these options.

Where's the " do what you want" button?

If future fancomics would be similar in length to that short one you mentioned, about 4-6 pages, I think another option that could work instead of alternating every other week would be working on just your own personal webcomic for at least 3-4 months and then taking 1-2 months to work on just the fancomic

Can you describe what you mean by " fears of adult content on the web recently?" Btw I'm down to see your nera comic!

TheOtherHalf

There's always some fear of any website pulling the plug on adult content, but with current laws trying to push back on fair use it might be getting riskier to do fanart content as well.

TheOtherHalf

That could definitely be an option, there's a good chance even if I do go purely webcomics I'll want to take a break for something else every once in a while.

Honestly, while I do enjoy your artwork on established works, I think you NEED to focus on your homegrown created characters like Nera. I know some people won't like the idea of seeing you focus on your characters and webcomic instead of focus on popular characters, but in my opinion artists such as yourself that created their own characters and develop them over the years seem to get more support from people for a couple of reasons that I can think of one of them being the fact that it your character. It's not a popular character that been "modified" for various reasons. If worst case scenario happens and you can't do fanart anymore you can always fall back on your own characters and if you develop them enough most people will follow you because of your characters. Nera grown on me and I WANT to see and know the world she is in. What are her friends like? Does she live in a big city or a small town? What her favorite foods? etc.. I read up on the link you posted and I'm carious about the world you made consisting of Scholars or Brawlers and I know it going to take a while for your webcomic to develop but I'm willing to wait.
