Gildedguy Demo Reel & Animation Updates (Patreon)

Story 8 Update

The main battle of Story 8 is still underway, and although we don't have any animation for Chorus 1 done yet, the 3D background for that section is fully modeled. 

UnderMineBlox has been diligent in carving out a section of the cave and boosting the coin details within Blender. The 3D program holding all the coins lags a fair bit on my computer, but when rendered, it looks great!

I have the task of moving the 3D camera throughout this new area to get the best shots that mirror our 2D layouts.

The remainder of "Section B" (of three total parts, A, B, C) has been 95% cleaned and inked. 

So aside from the intricate 3D segment, we're seeing lots of green! Which everyone knows is lucky, especially for this recent St. Patrick's day.

Up next will be several dragon fire animation scenes, and the aforementioned 3D panning shots. If the production were like a jungle, I'd say we're still in the dense thicket of bushes. But with every hack of the machete, we clear away large chunks of work standing in our way.

Demo Reel

A couple of days ago I released a brand new demo reel for the Gildedguy YouTube channel - it goes over a lot of the past work, and features some new stuff from Story 8 too! I hadn't updated the channel trailer in about 5 years, so it was about time I highlighted some of the recent animations.

I vibed with the song, "Backup Plan" and did my best to sync relevant clips to the music. The song's theme of taking risks in mirrors an attitude I aim to adopt even now in 2023.

One of the stand-out clips is this one from Story 8. Even though the visuals are not exactly the same as the final vision, it is close! Our meshing of 2D and 3D is getting better and better.

New Official Poster for Sale

It was also a good time for me to update the Gildedguy Official Poster - it contained characters and designs that are now out-of-date, so I'm glad I got to give it a fresh coat of paint. Can you spot all of the differences?

As part of the poster update, you can also buy a 12"x18" print of the poster here. The underside of the print contains a second poster "Arzon's Big Idea", which makes the product a nice little deal.
