Hello again folks! Good morning!
Last week was both very successful and very exhausting LMAO
We finally launched the DLC! 🎉 And it seems like people like it ^o^ I'm so happy! There's some minor text bugs that were caught after launch, but nothing serious enough to warrant an update push for now. I've fixed the stuff on my version so whenever I need to update for something more substantial, that stuff will be fixed too :)
After launch, I immediately switched gears to merch since I received my restock shipment and the new pins. I also finally pulled the trigger on the LED keychains I got a while ago and decided to just take the risk and send them... playing the waiting game now to see if I get returns or fines- really hope not LMAO!
But that's how the second half of the week went. All of Thursday and most of Friday were spent doing packing pit getting the orders packed up.
I'm happy to report that I am caught up now!
So what's next? I noticed I have a few new patrons this week- I'm sure wondering the same thing 😂
Well, the first thing I need to do is take a break. It's been a long time since I've had a break between projects and I'm really quite exhausted LMAO Game launches and merch drops are very very tiring.
While I'm taking my break, I hope to maybe have a bit of time for personal art and some time to think about concepts for my next project - the remixes.
For anyone that doesn't know, the next project on the list is a remix / remake / remaster - however you want to call it - of Strade's classic path in BTD. This has not been officially announced yet so please be discreet about it! Don't worry, I will announce it as soon as I'm ready to start working, so you won't have to keep a secret for too long this time.
I have many plans surrounding it, but the general short version is that I plan to remaster his path and launch it as it's own smaller game.
It will still be the same story in general, and I really hope to keep the same charm- However, I am also going to make changes to the story. I believe I can improve on it. Since 2016, the characters have become more complicated and robust in my mind. Not just from my own ideas, but from community influence as well. I hope to reflect that in my work.
The visuals will also obviously be getting a huge revamp. Part of the reason for the DLC was to give me a chance to practice using a new approach to sprites- a more dynamic approach with lots of body language and movement. I'll be using this approach in the remixes.
I also plan to work hard learning new coding so that I make it as exciting and immersive as possible. I have concepts for the UI [ things like the heart meter and health bar ] that I was never able to accomplish before due to my lack of ability. Things I really want to make a reality this time.
But anyway! I'm getting carried away! For now, it's time to take a break :) Perhaps 2 weeks. We'll see.
And of course, thank you so, SO much for your incredible support! The DLC came out great thank to your guys' help! I'm so delighted and lucky to be able to work on what makes me happy. Thank you very much for this opportunity <3
