Something that just occurred to me after seeing this pinup. In the "xeno log" part of the archives, when it talks about Xerrans, it mentions that development of secondary sexual characteristics is delayed until pair bonding occurs. We saw this with Kettering, where he looked extremely boyish, was fairly short, and didn't grow a beard until things got serious with Talps. In short, delayed puberty, based on the conversations he then had with Madison in "Now you're a man" Madison is clearly never going to be of the same proportions as Cassieopeia, but her figure suggests that she's gone through puberty, not only in the pinups, but based on her stature and general figure. Just when did she have time for that kind of relationship? We've seen her to be so incredibly career driven, nor have we heard any evidence of a serious relationship in her past. Is that something we're going to learn about in the future? Or does it have something to do with how close she is to a full blooded Xerran? Kettering is one eighth, and it still delayed for him. Also, Madison is still close enough to Xerran that she can't handle sugar. Just curious if there's a past relationship that we're eventually going to learn about.

If we told you, you'd KNOW! And then how would we tell stories about it, if we like...? But it's important to keep in mind (and right to mention in pride month) that medically managing hormones is something we do even today, and it's very likely normal for people in Maddy's position to want to schedule their physical development to suit their life schedule rather than the other way around. But thank you for a very observant question.

it could be that the cutoff point is about mid puberty.. so they'd have some of the characteristics, just not fully developed? rather than being locked as completely prepubescent? of course, it could be that Maddy pair bonded with Cassiopia and neither have realized it. :)
