Gunwild: Oh, I think we both love this one.

Psu: Yes but which Alien movies do we both love?

Gunwild: Alien and Aliens... and that's it.

Psu: Yeah... that's kinda too bad isn't it. Well I think you like Batman vs Alien. Or someone likes Batman vs Alien... right? Anyway, I guess this is an opportunity to talk about Theira's unique physiology. Have we fully explained it in the comic, ever? I guess this is the longest explanation of how it's supposed to work, and I'm glad people got it.

Gunwild: I do like Aliens comics! The original Batman/Aliens has art by Bernie Wrightson and features a xenomorph born from an unexpected (and deadly) earth animal. But yeah I wondered if people would have a lot of followup questions about Theira, and fortunately they've been kind enough to let us play it out as a bit of a background feature.

Psu: I don't think we ever really planned to fully explain it but when we needed something in between our major stories, and I suspect at least one of us had just watched an alien movie, the idea came up.

Gunwild: At least Theira doesn't need to add your biological distinctiveness to her own by killifying you.

Psu: She'd rather take you out in game and grab all your loot drops. On the art side of things, I don't really use sound effects a lot but these were so important to the story telling, I had to get creative with all the typography. By using the sound effects, you can potentially slow down a reader across the panels, hopefully creating the timing this joke needed. As for the visuals, thankfully I had a rich resource to borrow from. The opening panel was pretty much lifted from the first alien movie. Tiny little details I like, is the touch screen doorknob. And of course Theira has some rad gamer posters in the last panel.

Gunwild: I hope it doesn't smell too bad in there, for Kettlehead's sake. Anyway, before we go, I would like to note that I believe Aliens: Labyrinth from Dark Horse Comics to be one of the very best Alien stories in the franchise. It's been a while since I read it, but I think all fans should!

Psu: If I may be so bold, I think our comic is the best comic in the Alien franchise.

Guwnwild: If only the franchise knew it!

Huh. I always likened Theira's cocoon-induced mutations to the character Aylee from Pete Abrams's webcomic Sluggy Freelance (though Pete also took inspiration from the Alien franchise).

I miss the non-emo Kettlehead...
