Page Commentary No. 131 (Patreon)

Gunwild: This was sort of an underdeveloped idea in this story and that's my fault.

Psu: I sorta don't remember what we were going for. I remember needing to foreshadow Salt's ship and it would be a spooky Vanaa skull ship again. I also remember that we had to upload this page in black and white because I was  really under pressure to get a page out. I ended up doing this page twice essentially, one where it was good enough in black and white to publish and then to apply colors after that. But what's the underdeveloped thing, you think?

Gunwild: Ehh the idea that Cassiopeia would keep them away to keep them safe. But then we really wanted to do the action scene with the Old Salt, and you felt bringing the kiddos in would raise the stakes. Which it did. Anyway hey, with the spooky face that asteroid is more like a GHASTeroid!

Psu: Ghastly indeed. Oh hey, I think I remember what gave me the most problems from this page. This is the first clear external shot of the Damselfly. And we had actually uploaded the page with an early design! I had been working on the design for the ship up until that week and when it came time to draw it, I posted the design I "least hated" at the time. But then sometime during the coloring phase I hit on what would be the iconic "Navi" look for Cassiopeia's ship.
