Gunwild: Ya know, Mr. Skwidj is scared a lot, but when he can step up and help the crew, he does it.

Psu: I'd be scared when a bounty hunter points a blaster at me. It's one thing to step up but another thing to see the immediate danger of your actions! But now we have the courage of our entire crew plus like... this whole chapter was "talking" about the fierce warrior might of the Vanaa. I like that in a way, we reinforce that but visualize it differently than what the museum talked about.

Gunwild: Well, people in action are always different than an exhibit... also, sweet move by Talps there. And Moc. I wasn't so confident in using "wi-fi" in this super-futurey setting, but ya know, in Star Trek: Beyond they save the day with FM radio, so maybe I should worry less.

Psu: We're not VERY super futuristic. We bend a lot of our own rules and really it's more like a story about modern-ish sensibilities being given a science fiction appearance. If we were going to get really into it, we'd probably be throwing out small arms that look like modern rifles or even the concept of what a chocolate confection would take the form of. With sci fi stuff, it can be fun to create these really elaborate futures that seem believable, but Cassiopeia is maybe closer to the Jetsons than it is to Blade-runner. So talking about Wi-Fi is just that way that their world resembles ours with a cute alien on top of it.

Gunwild: Mercy's gear is kind of Destiny-inspired, right? Is her left shoulder pad thing?

Psu: Yep! I kinda steal a lot of my armor from my favorite video game armors. Mercy was a character that predates Destiny but a lot of her design would later be influenced by the game I would sink a few hundred hours in. I gotta say, even though this page is black and white it's actually quite exciting. I like a lot of the shapes and the expressive lineart. It breaks the panels in ways we haven't done in ages and I like to think it still does it successfully.

Psu: A lot of that was just marking these giant areas that I knew where going to be dark and light, to create silhouettes of our actors.

Gunwild: I think our latest WiP post features that, especially in the last panel where something ominous happens. Also, you can border-break with figures in our comic if you want. You don't need to ask my permission!

Psu: I haven't done it a lot partially because we haven't done an action scene in quite some time. I expect that to change pretty soon.

Gunwild: :V

Psu: All that said, one fun thing about using non square panels is that Moc is like a tiny circle within a circle. It makes him extra cute.

Gunwild: Talps makes a circle in a circle this page, too...

Psu: Maybe we should've given Nimoo a donut instead of a cake slice.
