Psu: I really love the inking on this page. It's a good argument to go right back to that old style of pen for drawing the lineart.
Gunwild: The last panel has its share of ridiculous Easter eggs, but I like the box of "Frosted Frakes" the best. Jonathan Frakes totally retweeted someone's photoshop of that same gag years later, and I wanted to be like "We included it first!"
Psu: Speaking of first... well not first but reintroduction of a lot of elements. This page is among the most loaded with details. It's the first time we really get a good look at the Admiralty which I expect we should talk about. But we also get another good look at where Cassiopeia actually lives. We see a little bit of it at the end of the first chapter but I think this breakfast nook with it's curved couch has become one of my favorite sets in the series. In fact it's probably the only consistent set that appears nearly the same every time you see it!
Gunwild: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, ya gotta do it right. Also a thing, this one added by you: Cassiopeia's shirt says "Cloovin" or maybe "Clooven" because you drew it after watching an episode of Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. The old cartoon, that is. And in it, some cool teens from the future need Cloovin to power their spaceship... and Cloovin was like, elephant ivory or something ridiculous like that? I don't remember how it ended, but I'm sure I would have raised hell if they ended up hurting the elephant.
Psu: Oh my god. How the hell did you remember the cartoon we were watching while I was drawing this page like three years ago?
Psu: I mean, I'm seriously impressed. I actually totally forgot about it and thought you made up the Cloovin shirt.
Gunwild: There's no forgetting Cloovin, it's future technology! That shirt has reappeared since, too. So be on the lookout, readers!
Psu: There are a bunch of things I like in this page visually. I like the holoscreens. Those haven't made the same kind of appearances in recent pages partially because it was always hard to get them to read as screens and often times the systems we're seeing screens with didn't need the holographic element. The admiralty however likes trying to be imposing even though they're 6 inches tall on your desk. But even with all those impressive details like the inside of the Drone Control Device, my favorite element on this page? The way Cassiopeia's face is really emphasizing the "Gee" in "Technology!"
Gunwild: Good detail on Zeke's finger-joints, too.
Psu: Oh, also I like the way you can see the circle window in between the panel borders in the upper panels. It would look clearer in color!
Gunwild: People wonder how Senchel got that many vertical scars on his face. My favorite theory I heard was "mauled by alien beast"
Psu: I know we went over it and I have a canon answer. Do we wanna tell the readers? I'm not sure it'll come up in the actual comic anytime soon. Actually... our answer might be outdated now! We came up with it years before some recent story developments.
Gunwild: Yeah. Matter transfer accident... some matter streams of his nonessential skin layers came in "too hot."
Psu: Maybe accidents like the one Senchel had are a reason why they're rare, if they're dangerous and ones that work as well as Mercy's are practically impossible to find.
