Weekly Anime Comics: Card Captor Sakura - page 12 (Patreon)

YAY! I finally managed to make a comic that's not just complaining about how creepy CLAMP can be! ...although if you know anything about the backstory of Indiana Jones, you know I totally COULD draw comparisons between Indy/Marion and Fujitaka/Nadeshiko.

But seriously, does the anime ever actually give us any real details on how Sakura's Dad wound up with this fantastically powerful book of spell cards in his basement?  I mean, I know the manga drops some pretty big details about his background, but I'm pretty sure that's one of the things the show leaves out, and even then it doesn't seem like it would explain this kind of thing.  I'm gonna feel like a dope if it is covered somewhere and I just forgot, but I'm pretty sure it's the kind of thing I'd have remembered if I'd seen it.

...and yes, a "time loop" joke probably would have been more obvious and probably, I kinda just wanted to draw Kero as a golden idol.  Hey, ya'll just be glad I didn't do with my OTHER impulse: trying to make a joke out of the Time card looking like that hermit in the Led Zeppelin IV gatefold.  Truly, THAT would have been me going obscure just for the sake of going obscure.
