Okay, so I'd PLANNED to not start up the next set of anime comics until after the last of this year's convention comics were finished, on the assumption that dividing my attention would drag that update out longer than it ought to take.  Well, guess what?  It's dragged out anyway, to the point that I really NEED to take a break and work on something else, if only for the morale boost of actually FINISHING something.

And you know what?  It just might be the best decision I've ever made, because talking about Giant Gorg is WAAAAAAAY more fun than talking about AWA.  No offense to everyone who likes Anohana or One Week Friends or the like, but I get more enjoyment out of watching Giant Gorg than every single other show I've covered for Patreon put together.  This is EXACTLY the sort of thing that got me interested in Japanese animation in the first place, and it's gonna be a LOT of fun gushing about it here... though I still wouldn't expect these "weekly anime comics" to actually start becoming weekly again just yet.  I DO still have those AWA comics haging over my head, after all.

(Also, I'm only just now noticing the major brain fart of using "boredom" twice.  Originally the next to last tentacle was going to say "ever-increasing apathy towards modern anime," but that was obviously too long, and I didn't pay enough attention when I shortened it.  We're off to a GREAT start!)

…I'm suddenly suspicious that Far Out There would be a very different sort of comic if you were better at drawing action scenes in reasonable amounts of time. With your tendency towards adorable characters, and the sort of action you tend towards, I suspect the combination would be very interesting and different. I can't quite actually imagine it, though.

I really hate doing this to you (no I don't) but Anohana is over 7 years old, it is about as modern of an anime as Giant Gorgo would have been in 1991

BlitzTheComicGuy

Yeah, I mean "modern" in terms of overall stylistic trends more than specific release dates. Also, that typo is now making me imagine an anime/British monster movie crossover I REALLY wanna see. :)

BlitzTheComicGuy

Oh, you just wait, there's some stuff on Far Out There's horizon that'll answer that question quite definitively!
