Here's a segment about misogyny in competitive fields that I wrote for the Theranos video that I quite liked. The rest of the video isn't quite done but I wanted to share this early since I thought everyone would enjoy it. Not to misrepresent the tone of the whole video, the rest of it is very critical of theranos and holmes (obviously) and this section is more of a caveat to get people to consider the wider picture beyond the individual

Excellent clip. I can’t wait to see it finished. J do wonder also how trans men are treated in these discussions. You said women are treated pretty horribly, which is true, so I’m curious to how trans men are treated or nonbinary people. Even in a leftist space, there is still a lot of, conscious of otherwise, transphobia on occasion. Excellent clip, again. Thanks for giving me a question to ponder. Do you have any insight into it? I believe trans women are treated even harsher then cis women. Is that right?

It's insane how you can put so much great stuff in such a short clip. Love it and looking forwards to the complete video. Thank you for your hard work

As a non-binary person, I'd say that it really depends on how you're perceived. I am very much perceived as a woman and so my experiences align fairly well with what Sophie discusses. Some of my friends who are more masc are treated as "men". People who are hard to place gender-wise also usually have to deal with lots of appearance-based comments in my experience but it's definitely also impacted by race and class.
