Honestly, Soph might be the only leftist that I see bring up NZ semi-regularly. Which even as an Aussie, I appreciate, having grown up around a pretty big Maori population.

It's so refreshing to hear people in the international community not platforming and discussing New Zealand with this idealized lens. Yes our government reacted quickly and effectively to things like the pandemic and the chch shooting, but we have many systemic issues around racism and our own rise in facism.
