When you're trying to paint a nice Mediterranean vista but then Icarus ruins it by falling into the shot... This was a really lovely video btw :)

Your points about expertise and who gets to be an expert remind me of Who Gets To Be Smart by Bri Lee. I think you'd like it.

manifesto for the online left? yay! coincidentally, one of my physical bookmarks is in the newest volume of Perspectives on Anarchist Theory (#32 - 2021) on page 27, where i'm about to read "Building Online Power" by Cayden Mak. maybe a good resource, even if only to see how another leftist is thinking through similar issues. journal info at the Institute for Anarchist Studies site at https://anarchiststudies.org/perspectives/ writer Cayden Mak also organizes with 18 Million Rising at https://18millionrising.org/ the new Perspective volume isn't online yet. if you don't like shopping for physical copies of anarchist journals or if price/shipping/handling are too much, message me and i can help out

Parade De Cirque (Circus Sideshow) By Georges Seurat is a great painting. It has much more of a surreal feel. There was a show of his in nyc and I was blown away by that one in particular. Oedipus and the Sphinx by Moreau is also my personal weeb favorite. because the sphinx is soooo creepy and so inhumanly feminine at the same time. you kinda have to see her face up close but the animal body language is so alive and her face is so dead. and it's reffed in the satoshi kon movie paprika. Also almost no museum is crowded around 90% of their paintings. if you avoid the ML the luvre is 99% empty and you can really take your time with everything else. and there is SO much good stuff. when my mom was still alive one of the things we did all the time is spend hours in the museum.
