Well that's certainly "up close and personal." As far as gags go, how about strips of tape in an X-Shape? You could even make it color coded, with one black strip and one yellow strip for each captive. Or for an alternative, give each of them a non-wraparound white tape gag with a little message written on each; I'll leave it up to you to decide what the words are.
