Oh man this was a doozy. I drew this comic back in 2021 as both a commission for https://www.furaffinity.net/user/fhyrrain but also a lead-in to Cid's cyberpunk story.

Corporate take-overs, wars between a walled dystopian nation-city and the rebels seeking freedom and personal choice by living outside the walls, dark experiments being done on live subjects to unlock their "potential"... horrifying monsters that prowl the outskirts of civilization... it was gonna be a whole crazy world!

That's where the sad part comes in. The project was too ambitious, one of those stories filled with characters spanning 2 generations that would've given Cid a lot more to do than just be a sona. Fhyra and Verge were going to be second generation antagonist characters, while the General, Verge and the elusive Dr. Halverson were going to be first gen villains playing antagonist roles during Cid and Fhyra's childhood.

The basic plot of this comic was to show that the world was changing and Fhyra was making her play  to take over as the director of the largest mega-corp in the city. Think of Halverson Group as equivalent to The Tyrell Coorporation, OCP, Cyberdyne, Arisaka, or any other mega-corp from dystopian games/movies.

Fhyra's claim to fame was Neurosync technology that allows for full dive VR, memory storage and transfer, but more importantly (and secretely) memory manipulation. Ruling through fear and disparity has too many disadvantages as she sees it and in her mind It's easier to control an entire population if they are compliant and passive.

The massive nuclear attack on Terminus was a reference to the ending of part one of Cid's story, where Cid and some surviving test-subjects glass an entire Halverson research city. The cover up was that it was done by wasteland terrorists in order to hide some of the unsavory research the Halverson group was doing, Fhyra being one of the child test subjects who manages to escape.

Anyway I hope you all like this glimpse into what could have been! I am still super proud of this comic although it's unlikely we'll ever see the full story unfold.
