The speed at which Autumn pounced on the rodents was staggering and the reality of the situation dawned on Pip immediately. Her wet, steaming form eclipsed his entire field of view, her herbal fresh scent (with the slightest hint of wet canine) overwhelmed his sensitive nose, and the heat radiating from her body made him dizzy and light-headed. Her very presence struck him like a sledgehammer, as he was suddenly flooded with a feeling of awe and dread, realizing all to well what his place was in HER universe.  Pip's head filled with cognitive dissonance.
