Behind-the-scenes on ideation (Patreon)

Hey friends! Just wanted to share some kind of ridiculous visuals I put together for my Valentine's Day music video (which is RUSHING up on us!! ahh!!)

This is an original 50's-style love song (similar in vibes to Melee Range!) from the perspective of my Gelatinous Cutie. It's called "He Sees Right Through Me," and it's a sort of an unrequited love ballad, sung by the Gelatinous Cutie about the adventurer she's in love with!

I want this video to take place in a dungeon, which is where gelatinous cubes traditionally hang out. I also will need a pretty big set to be able to film full-body shots like I want to do! So I'll be combining a big stone backdrop with a green screen to create a really wide set. (I'll be taking over the whole living room, much to Josh's chagrin!)

I've also tried multiple times to hang sconces, pictures, etc. on backdrop "walls" and have never really found a good solution, so I have an idea I'd like to try this time: I'm gonna create a torch prop that is built around a big ol' rare earth magnet, so I can sandwich the backdrop in between the torch and a second magnet and hopefully have a really easy way to hang the torches on the backdrop without risking damaging it! Fingers crossed that it works like I'm imagining.

For this song, I wrote some cute little doo-wop background vocals, so I had the idea today to be my own back-up singers, dressed as skeletons of the people the Gelatinous Cutie has killed! The second picture here is a kinda-creepy mockup I made in Photoshop to refine my aesthetic plans for the back-up singers. I ordered the skeleton bodysuit online, and then I'll be pairing it with a black A-line skirt, white skeleton face paint, and a black wig.

In order to be three people, I'll be shooting all the back-up singers on green screen. (I can't do that with the Gelatinous Cutie for obvious reasons, haha!) Then I'll layer all three of them into the same scene, and sometimes into the background of scenes with the Gelatinous Cutie. It'll be a lot of work in editing, but I'm a glutton for punishment I guess 😅

This is all going to be happening very quickly over the next 2-3 days, so keep an eye out for updates and Lens posts!
