HEY FRIENDS! For this month's costume, I'm going to try and finish the Pike Trickfoot from Critical Role cosplay I started many months ago — the armor was so intimidating for me, I set it aside for a while. But I looked back at the design I created before using Hannah Alexander's fashion template and wanted to make some changes, so I redrew about half of it! Here's the previous version, for reference:

Here are some of the changes I made:

  • Added a hi-lo skirt (because it balanced the design and also I'm a sucker for hi-lo skirts)
  • Eliminated the thigh armor (because it would be less visible under the new skirt)
  • Added a blouse with puff/slashed sleeves & some pants (so the under-layer felt less... bodysuit-y)
  • Redesigned the pauldrons (to not get in the way of the new puff sleeves)
  • Redesigned the gauntlets (to look more "ogre power"-y)

The only remaining issue, I think, is that my Patron Alex sent me a gorgeous brass pendant to be her holy symbol, but since I already put that symbol onto her breastplate, I'm not sure how it'll look to add that around my neck... I think I'll figure out where to wear it once I have the costume more put-together and I can experiment with it.

Now... time to order a bunch of fabric online, cross your fingers that I make the right choices!

This looks beautiful. I have every confidence that you will conquer the armour crafting like you have every other skill you’ve needed in your cosplay career. Go get ‘em Ginny!

I love the redesign! It was already cute, but the changes you made have made the underlayer adorable all on its own. Love the puff sleeves and stripes.
