When I decided to cosplay Pike from campaign one of Critical Role, I was unsure of what direction to go — there's a lot of art of her, but I didn't really fall in love with any of the designs. It's a major plot point that Pike wears plate armor, but that meant that most of the designs for her were very clunky-looking. So I decided to design my own!

I used Hannah Alexander's design template for this! This will be my first time making armor, so I'm very nervous. I'll be using foam and worbla, and I've ordered some silicone cake molds so I can experiment with doing the filigree in hot glue. I'll keep you guys updated with progress!

Pike also carries a shield, and her weapons include a morningstar, a mace, and a sword. Right now I'm going to ignore her shield and weapons, just because I'm unsure if I'll even be able to pull off the armor. (If all goes well, I'll tackle weapons later.)

My goal is to get this done for Denver Pop Culture Con, which is at the very end of May. However, because it's a new challenge for me and that's a pretty short time frame, I'm not going to push myself if it ends up not working out. I'm just going to do my best!

This looks awesome! Do you know what cosplays you want to bring to DPCC?

That's a beautiful and functional design.

Jester for sure! Pike if she gets done. That's all I know right now.
