Little Sapphire's Lullaby — Filming Recap (Patreon)

On Saturday, we filmed the music video for my new original song inspired by Critical Role, "Little Sapphire's Lullaby"! In this video, I play Marion Lavorre, aka The Ruby of the Sea, aka Jester's mom, accompanied on screen by Jester throughout her life.

By far the highlight of the day for everyone was 4-year-old Inca, who played toddler Jester. You would not believe what a perfect angel this little girl was — I have never met a more patient, cooperative 4-year-old, and to be honest I meet a lot of adults who aren't as chill as her! She handled the makeup so well, and did a wonderful job on camera.

We shot with Inca first because her mom requested that we knock it out early in the day, so by about 11:00am, Inca had been thoroughly scrubbed back to her normal pink-ish color, and our second Jester actress was getting her paint on: Morgan!

Most of you know Morgan because I work with her a lot and I also never shut up about her. She wore my Jester costume and looked so dang cute in it!!

Finally, we filmed with the last Jester — the scary blue baby doll that I painted! We were consistently ahead of schedule all day somehow (don't ask me... that's literally never happened on a video shoot before!) so when we wrapped up, everyone stuck around to eat some soup and help tear down the set. It was honestly a really great experience top to bottom!!

I'm hoping to get this video released before I leave for Emerald City Comic Con, which means it can be released Thursday at the latest... so if you see me online this week, tell me to get back to work!!
