Because "Little Sapphire's Lullaby" takes place in Marion's rooms at the Lavish Chateau, this video has a lot of emphasis on set decoration! The space needs to look lived-in, and since the video spans years, I need three different stages of "lived-in" based on Jester's age. That means I've been spending a lot of time and energy on collecting props and decorations.

Since Jester is an artist, that also means that we need some art! Jester's sketchbook is a key prop in the final scene, so I spent some time yesterday creating some believable sketchbook pages (above).

We also needed some of Jester's... um, earlier work, haha! So I did some left-handed crayon drawings based on actual 4-year-olds' drawings that I found online:

The way set dec works, stuff like this contributes to a more immersive-feeling set, but isn't generally super noticeable. So while people may not realize that they're seeing all this labor, it will contribute to them viewing the location as more believable. It's sort of "invisible labor" in that way. I'm glad I'm ahead of schedule enough on video prep to be able to take the time to focus on stuff like this!

That top picture of Jester and her mom, and the birds beside them, is absolutely beautiful!!! You excelled yourself in every aspect of this whole project! And it further proves just how much heart and soul you put into creating all these phenomenal works!! All this is why you are such a incredibly inspirational force, in every art form you work in!!

Thank you Patrick!! I chose birds because young Jester grew up sequestered in her room, so I figured she'd probably draw a lot of what she sees out the window!!
