For the first of the two August early access videos, I made part two of my new "Ginny Rants" series! This one is about "cringe culture." Did you know that when you try to tag a YouTube video with #cosplay, YouTube suggests the autofill #cosplay cringe? I believe the rise of cringe culture is the enemy of creativity and artistry. Here's some thoughts on why it sucks!

[GINNY RANTS] Down with Cringe Culture

We, the community of the internet, need to stop expecting everything that gets shared online to be professional-grade perfect. How are you contributing the cringe culture? When someone is passionate about something, and when they love something so much, that they put time, effort, and show their overall appreciation through a work of cosplay, that is just awesome and beautiful!! And all they put into it should be celebrated and appreciated! They world will never be short of people who hate (unfortunately), but that doesn't mean that people who care about something, shouldn't get to share that love with others who also care!! Fandom is for everyone!!! And we all can appreciate each other, and what creators give to every fan community!

Yes!! My favorite thing about fandom is that even if the world at large doesn't understand us, we understand and embrace each other!! That community can help soften the negativity of the people who just don't get it.

Pretty much exactly how I feel about 'cringe culture'. Passion for something shouldn't be shot down, people should be free to feel it out in a space that allows them to flex their creativity. Great rant video!
