February in Ragonia (2022) (Patreon)

Helloooo Patrons, and happy Wednesday Eve!

I hope you've had a lovely February and/or are doin' alright out there. Here's a couple of things I got done this month in my Arty Business:

1. PATREON REMODEL ANNOUNCED & PROMPTLY MOVED TO APRIL!

The Patreon's getting a Remodel, launching officially April 1st, with a total new focus on making art and making art TOGETHER. Instead of the educational articles I'll now be doing regular livestreams, frequent art challenges, and a lot more action in the Ragonia Discord!

2. DRAW TOGETHER LIVESTREAM!

The Remodel launches April 1st, but this month we had our first livestream! I took your suggestions for what to sketch on stream and had such a good creative time. :)

Prompts I drew from were: Dung Beetle, Tortoise Beetle, Bird Knight, Catfish Merchant, Goblin Elder, and Teapot Ghost! Feel free to use any of the prompts for your own art.

I think the voted favorites were Catfish Merchant and Bird Knight.

3. LUCY&YAK COLLAB!

You can now get my design on a shirt from one of my fave brands, Lucy&Yak! It's live!

4. A CROWDFUNDED NPC ZINE!

I was hired to illustrate some Non-Player Characters (NPCs) for a super funny and rad zine called the NPC Phonebook, and we're currently at 147% full funding! The fundraiser's open until March 5th if you want to order your copy and provide additional funding. All the funds go towards even more of my art for the final copy!

5. RAGONIA IN THE NEWS

I illustrated my first newspaper cover story for the Detroit Metro Times, on how animal agriculture impacts climate change. I'm so proud of the results, and hope to work with this AD on more editorial illustration in the future!

6. DTIYS NEVER DIE

I just wanted to show you this drawing I did based on Wizard of Barge's original. I used outlines, that's crazy! A professional artist drew something, it's an announcement, amazing!

7. I SCULPTED THIS, CAN YOU BELIEVE?

I'm learning 3D modeling on Blender a tiny tiny bit at a time following two YouTube tutorials suggested to me by Patron n' Pal Francesca Oaksford and it feels SO GOOD!!!!

BONUS... What I was up to in February in 2020? 2018? HOLY SHIT in 2019 I also made an audio newsletter and I sound like an absolute baby????? Go listen to absolute business baby Ragon 2019. Omg I forgot I used to post updates WEEKLY. I'm shook, enjoy.
