There is a a great deal of similarity to MDUD. The major difference boils down to the male leads slightly different mindsets. Miyamura is definitely much more confident than Gojo as attested to my the ink and piercings, Hence the relationships are going to track differently. Each entertaining in it's own way.

While there is SoL material presented, all character driven stories must present such to establish the characters personalities. What truly defines SoL is stasis. nothing really changes. Characters don't age, situations don't change different gags or topics drive the entertainment. Think Peanuts or Seinfeld. The Japanese media doesn't produce much of such content and that which is produced usually doesn't make the cut for export.
