It was called Candlestick Park because it was located on Candlestick Point in San Francisco. It was, by most accounts, not a great stadium for baseball because of the windy conditions. It was also the home of the 49ers for a long time, even after the Giants moved to Oracle Park. One piece of major pop culture history? Candlestick Park was where the Beatles played their final concert before quitting touring in 1966.

So weird....randomly watching and when they said the date of 10/17 kind of freaked me out lol. If I remember correctly the announcers who were kind of joking right after it happened had to apologize because people are, well, stupid and thought they were being insensitive.
