**UPDATE***

We´re working hard on a first small MoCap suit release. It´s a bit more complicated than we thought so we need more time for development or better said "work arounds". Anyway it´s not the suits fault but more the long working pipeline we have to go through wich does affect every extern recording system. It literally feels like trying to put a video casette in a CD player.....

We need to push the review video a bit apart because a release is way more important.

**ORIGINAL POST**

Finally! After waiting for ages the Rokoko MoCap suit is there! Two things are happening now:

1.) All work in REM titles / other scenes is paused instantly.
2.) We´re going into intesive 1 week testing period!

We not only say "we test it" and come up with a short statement the day after. The last three weeks we were collecting information about the suit all over the web. Here is our test guideline we developed in our latest team meeting to make sure we get the best out of the suit, test it fair and for you also to follow.

Step 1

- Checking environmental requirements / compare with recommended
- MoCap suit quality check (textile, electronics, defects (?) )
- Basic MoCap suit functionality test (Wifi settings, battery, disruptive factors)

Step 2

- First MoCap tests in Rokoko studio
 -> Testing 3 ways of possible tracking (Locomotion 2.0, Lagacy, Locomotion 2.0 / Lagacy with two additional Vive trackers)
- Testing the Rokoko In-built cleaning tools
- Checking weak points, pros/cons / general first impression

Step 3 (biggest testing part)

- Second MoCap test in Rokoko Studio
-> Testing tracking methods assosiated with intended style of Mocap record
(explanation: Using different tracking methods for example for "on chair", "on floor", "dancing", "running", "Posing")

Step 4

- First real small MoCap records
- First real "cleanup" attempt using the in built cleanup methods
- Overall recording quality summarizing ( chances / weak points )

Step 5

- Export testing
-> testing FBX, BVH using different skeletons/rigs (Rokoko Default, Maya, Maximus)
-> Testing different framerate export (100 / 60 / 29.95)
-> Blender Importing and retargeting
-> Daz3D importing and retargeting

Step6

VaM import
-> Testing with BVH Player by "VRAdultFun"
-> Creating "RAW Mocap file"

Step 7

VaM editing
-> Using the power of VaM for quick editing after baking animation
-> Creating same Mocap file like "RAW" file but with "basic" editing done

Step 8

Review, release & public statement

FINAL NOTE

Because of the latest events we´re kindly asking all people out there reading this to stay calm and patient. We had many people reaching out for us asking if the suit is really as bad as some other creators out there clearly pointed out and even "proofed". We don´t believe anything until we tested it on our own. But not only that. Exactly at this time, next wednesday we are releasing an exclusive, honest and fair review video!

7 days to go!

Stay tuned

Are you talking about ReignMocap and him looking for 27K donations to buy that fancy movie capture system? I didn't read exactly what he said was bad and if the one you now have is what he mentioned.

KamiGato

Yes, the Rokoko suit is also mentioned by ReignMoCap but not only. At this point we can't say anything about this suit and its quality at all. We will find out soon if its from our perspective worth asking for a 27K system as the only reasonable way to record more complex choreographys / XXX scenes. Anyway every question & happening is going to be covered in the review video next week :D

Rezz

Very exciting stuff! Can't wait! (but I will)

Fire

Nice to see that you will evaluate different strategies at every part of the work pipeline to get it the best possible outcome that the suit can produce.

What about converting the BVH to a timeline animation?

KamiGato

This is something we´ll definitely do in order to do further cleaning and improve the overall MoCap performance using Acid Bubbles "timeline". Small tweaks, missplacements and so on are just a matter of effort. We´ll also provide the Raw FBX (unrigged) and BVH (already rigged) file with every release in the future to cover all artist out there who want to use our animations outside of VaM also. More information will follow soon

Fantastic!!!

Are you able to use that in VAM or their software and import the animation. My Suit is coming in 2 weeks and was just curious.

KamiGato
