Ha! I managed to announce this months fabulous Mystery Box even earlier than the month before! :P / clapping myself on the shoulder.

However this time the announcement is shorter than ever because we are featuring the same artist again like last time: "Riddler"! So long story short he's going to deliver a wonderful model again PLUS a complete clothing set AND his otherwise paid custom skin "15_4K" on top.

He is really giving it all to deliver something outstanding and I know I can be pretty much demanding because quality in our production stands above anything. Regardless of the fact he's a perfect match for this reason (and a cool guy anyways) in our studio he is going to take short break from the Mystery Box in the next month - giving someone else a chance to step into his footprints and taking a looong breath for the next round he's featured in again. We are looking out atm for a fitting artist for the Mystery Box #18 ;)

Like always this box will be released by the end of this month.

Okay and now to an other topic. The fight for quality is taking place on multiple fronts. We are not standing still but develop the best we can do to stand out as professional studio - today and tomorrow.

External recording is our holy grail and road to professionalism - with this mindset we are experimenting now several months with Rokoko again, yes we invested a not small amount of our studio earnings into new technology they came up with in the last year until today but kept silent about it - wait! - before you now think "oh yeah, this nonsense again" - hear me out. It works!

Thanks to a dedicated plugin (which we keep secret for now) we are able to LIVE stream directly from Rokoko Studio into Virt-A-Mate, yeah we can also record directly into Acid Bubbles Timeline if we want. This means on the paper that we are technically able to record all available joints/nodes....technically.

Here are the facts. The culprit at this moment is not Rokoko. The recorded data is more precise than ever and by all means I never thought this precision would be possible at all. We are also able to track the fingers & facial expressions. We have like the complete full body bundle available & unlocked.

The hard part is the traslation into VaM. Everybody with a slight knowledge of rigging also knows how much the VaM models Rig differs from nearly any other Rig - not to mention a special rig like the standart Rokoko one.

So what I can say atm is that the data works 75%. It is already enough to say that we actually CAN and WILL record with it - but not enough to say it is "just like we want". The remaining 25% will take a loooot of headache, suffering and playing around. But we will get there.

It took now several months to come to the 75% stage so I wanted to take the chance now to announce that the first MoCaps using external & professional recording methods are "on it's way". We are not announcing a "Big Boom" hype Train thing - this is nonsense. Like everything else this reqires time and a lot of try & error. Some records will look good, some might look really off and worse than tracker records. We will start slow and incorporate this new technology slowly into our regular production.

However records featuring full body external recording will be tagged as such and/or there will be a clear hint in the release post.

Our target in the end is not to abandon tracker recording but to incroporate new technology in our existing workflow.

However if you managed to read so far, here is a kiss for ya :* Thank you =D

Have a neat day!
